This section explains the Project Report requirements.
The report should include the following sections:
PART 1: Enterprise Systems in Business
Environment
In this section students are required to define and
explain the importance of Decision Support Systems (DSS), Customer Relation
Management (CRM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) in a business
environment; discuss the following in your answer to this part:
Overview of the DSS, CRM and ERP in business terms.
Provide some examples of how these technologies (DSS, CRM and
ERP) are being used in companies? Give at least three examples for each of the
technologies discussed.
What benefits are companies realizing from these technologies
(DSS, CRM and ERP) or hope to realize? List at least three benefits for each of
the technologies discussed.
What are some
deployment considerations (technical, economic, environmental, safety and
sustainability) a company needs to think about prior to deploying these
technologies? List at least three considerations for each of the technologies
discussed.
This part of the report should be between 1000 1500words.
PART 2: Technical Evaluation of an
Enterprise System
In this section students are required to work ONLYon
their assigned Enterprise System (ERP) as per teacher instructions.
Each group is required to compare
and contrasttheir assigned Enterprise System using productofferings
from THREE different venders(See the Appendix A- for list of possible venders and products).
The compare and contrast should be based on the following criteria:
Modules supported.
Analytical features.
Ease of customization.
Support for Virtualization/Cloud Computing as enabling
technologies for IT sustainability (green IT).
Usability and level of training requirements
Implementation requirements.
Total Cost of
Ownership (TCO)
This part of the report should be between 1500 2000words.
The group Report is a group activity that contributes (30%)
towards this project component.
