I encourage you to consult with me about your topic and your ideas for the paper.
Research Questions
Once you have chosen your topic, identify your research question or questions.
For example, if you chose option #1, your research questions will include: What is bioregionalism? What are its tenets? What problem or problems is it trying to address? How docs Walden align with and promote bioregionalism’s tenets? What have other scholars written about the connections between bioregionalism and Thoreau?
Once you have your research questions, you can begin your research.
Research Guidelines
For the paper, you need to cite six or more secondary sources in addition to your primary text or texts (Walden and “Walking”). Of your six secondary sources, at least three must be peer-reviewed and scholarly. Any non-scholarly sources that you reference should be credible. You arc also welcome to cite sources we have read for class, but they will not count toward your six-source minimum.
On Wednesday, September 25, we will spend our class session in the library, where the research specialist and 1 will help you conduct research for this assignment.
Paper Guidelines
Your 5- to 7-page paper should have a clear argument (thesis) that is supported with persuasive evidence from Walden (and “Walking,” if applicable) and your secondary sources.
