1. What is your definition of effective use of technology?

I believe that effective of technology aligns with how somebody uses technology for daily activities such as mobile phones for communication and management of diverse activities. (Communication and management).

2. What characteristics do you attribute to the most prevalent social media platform that you use?

My favorite social media platform is the Facebook due to the unlimited potential to reach out to a large volume of people. Additionally, the platform is reliable, easily accessible, easy to navigate. (Reliability, accessibility, easy navigation and number of user)

3. What would you say motivates you to engage the online community through a specific social media platform?

Unlike other social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Twitter that limit the capacity of an individual, Facebook provides me with an opportunity to outsource for new prospects due to the high number of users hosted under the platform. Additionally, it also helps me connect with other professionals pursuing the same discipline. (Diversified usage)

4. What are some of the issues ever experienced deters you from using a specific online platform?

Whenever I am online I stay vigilant for cyber-attacks mainly because of privacy issues that arise at almost double the rate at which technology is evolving. Apart from privacy issues, a slow website would definitely deter me from participating in the social media platforms. (Privacy issues)

5. What is the most prominent use of social media at an individual level?

I mainly use social media for connecting to friends and family and also professional organizations such as the school institution. (Networking)

1. What is your definition of effective use of technology?

For me, effective use of technology aligns with how it helps me in my daily activities. An example is where it assists me outsource important information from online sources such as google scholar and online news blogs as well as aid in my communication needs. 2. What characteristics do you attribute to the most prevalent social media platform that you use?

Twitter presents one of the most frequent social media platform that I use. The platform is easy to navigate and also provides updated information regarding a wide variety of topics ranging from sports to politics. (Easy to navigate, provides updated information)

3. What would you say motivates you to engage the online community through a specific social media platform?

Due to my busy schedule, Twitter keeps me updated since I regularly get notifications about new events. As opposed to periods before college whereby I had time to watch news, I rarely ever get time to followup on new events through television programs. (Busy schedule, updated information)

4. What are some of the issues ever experienced deters you from using a specific online platform?

Privacy to me is paramount due to the increasing cases of identity theft. As compared to Facebook, Twitter is more secure since it is more public that Facebook. In Facebook, one uploads a wide variety of information such as photos and data which might highly compromise an individual’s privacy if it falls into the wrong hands. (Privacy issues)

I mainly use social media for communication purposes with friends and family as well as obtain important, and updated information about current world affairs (Communication, outsource information).
