That role differs from that of a licensed professionaland it differs from your role as a student, a parent, or a community member. And yet, your role cant help but be informed by these.</p>
<p>Your role as a social work student intern is defined by the expectations of the agency and social work educational requirements. Social workers have many roles when they work with clients, all of which are part of being a social work practitioner. To assist clients, social workers may take on the role of a broker, advocate, educator, case manager, mediator, networker, and researcher. To help interns find their place to develop the skills necessary to someday become a licensed social worker, supervisors assign tasks that ensure you engage in social work roles. In this Discussion, you examine your practice strengths, your knowledge of social work, and the anticipated tasks at your agency to understand your role as a social work intern.</p>

<p>Still Waters uses a variety of theoretical orientations depending on the program and the situation. Trauma Informed Care: For our Intensive Family Intervention program we utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. We have staff who have been trained and certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF CBT). This therapy is used for children who have been exposed to trauma and/or abuse. According to Cano (2020), social workers must be at the forefront of the efforts to implement agendas that promote diversity and inclusion in the workforce (p. 107).</p>
<p>As a student and intern, of course, these efforts must be tempered by humility and in a spirit of learning. To that end, in this Assignment you take an inventory of diversity and inclusion in your agency.</p>
<p>Note: The goal of this Assignment is for you to learn about your agency. It is important to recognize that agencies approach diversity and inclusion differentlytherefore, the intent of this Assignment is  not to critique the agency&#8217;s approach but to learn what they do.</p>

<p>Lighthouse Care Center of Augusta is a mental health treatment facility in Augusta, Georgia. Children, adolescents and adults who are struggling to cope with mental health concerns can receive support at this center. They provide partial hospitalization programs, medication management, crisis stabilization services and acute residential care to individuals over the age of five. The facility maintains the Joint Commissions gold seal of approval accreditation, and theyre LegitScript certified.</p>
<p>This clinic seeks to provide care to as many patients as possible, so they accept many types of insurance policies from Georgia Managed Medicaid, Aetna, and Cigna to UnitedHealthCare and Blue Cross-Blue Shield. If you find yourself out of network, then the facility will work with you on creating a single case agreement plan. This type of arrangement between your provider and the facility might allow you to get the coverage and care you need without having to search for a different facility or provider.</p>
<p>One great thing about this facility is that they have an onsite school that can help children and adolescents meet their educational goals. The school, which is accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission, can help interested individuals receive their GED or high school diploma, learn independent living skills and build upon their vocational goals.</p>
<p>Patients who seek help at the clinic will undergo an evaluation before being provided with an individualized treatment plan that considers their strengths and weaknesses. The facility can help patients who are experiencing anxiety, mood disorders, paranoia, depression, homicidal thoughts and self-harming behaviors.</p>

<p>The purpose of this assignment is to analyze a specific organization in depth, making use of the theories and concepts from required readings to demonstrate your comprehension of course materials.</p>
<p>Instructions:</p>
<p>PLEASE USE US ARMY as the Orgnaization</p>
<p>Select an organization with which you are familiar or which you would like to examine. The organization could be a non-governmental organization, a government agency, a for-profit or a non-profit firm, etc.</p>
<p>Find and read at least 2 current newspaper* articles and 2 peer-reviewed journal articles about the organization you will be studying (and/or companies in the same industry as the one you are studying if there are no articles available on your specific organization).</p>
<p>Write a 2-4 page paper that includes:</p>
<p>Background/history and interesting facts about the organization</p>
<p>Explains your rationale for choosing this organization</p>
<p>Integrates course materials and your 4 sources to support your points.</p>
<p>*You may have to limit your search by the content type of source/ date if you get too many results. If you have trouble finding sources, please contact the APUS Librarians for assistance.</p>
<p>General requirements:</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Assessing Baby Boomers as a Viable Market Segment for Travel and Tourism</p>
<p>Your friend owns a travel agency Dreamers Adventure Travel. At some point it was a thriving business with a stable and diverse clientele. As people became more Internet savvy in the 2000s, the travel agency lost some business to people booking their own trips directly online. This negatively affected the travel agencys profitability. At this point, Dreamers Adventure Travel is facing such a crisis that your friend may close the business.</p>
<p>You believe, however, that the Dreamers Adventure Travel could change their target market (formerly young urban professionals  yes, YUPPIES!) to include Baby Boomers, to increase revenue and their competitive advantage in the travel agency marketplace. Thus, you believe that Dreamers Travel could be more successful by tailoring their travel packages and services to each of their target markets.</p>
<p>Baby Boomers are largely entering retirement or are retired and many have a desire to travel (e.g., outdoor recreation, nature, adventure travel/tourism, cultural and historically important and exotic destinations, etc.). Clients in this market segment, on average, have enough discretionary income for travel and touring, like travelling in the groups of like-minded individuals, may have specific needs and preferences while travelling, and might still have a habit of turning to the travel agent for organizing their trips. You plan to build a tour/adventure travel experience package tailored to Baby Boomers travel preferences (potentially in groups) in the United States.</p>
<p>Your friend is intrigued by your idea but needs answers about to the potential demand and preferences among Baby Boomers. You decide to obtain these answers through research. The problem is that you dont even know what you dont know. You start planning and you ask yourself the following questions:</p>
<p>1. What research or evidence-based information is available so I can become more informed by others knowledge, experience and expertise on adventure travel preferences of Baby Boomers?</p>
<p>2. What print publications or online publications (e.g., journals, professional and trade magazines, mass media magazines focused on the target market) can I access to learn more before I invest additional time and effort?</p>
<p>3. Would focus groups with past Baby Boomer clients who havent signed up for trips or used your agency in a while be useful to tap for more insight? Why?</p>
<p>4. If past clients are not interested in sharing their views, how else can you get some insight from Baby Boomers in your target market (including the region your business is located in, which is Hayward)? Who should be the participants (e.g., any older adults, adults with specific socio-demographic characteristics, other travel agents)? Should the focus groups be mixed or same gender, age, race/ethnicity? Why or why not?</p>
<p>5. Based on key informants who have access to local Baby Boomers, (1), what types of questions would you include in your unstandardized/unstructured guide [a set of the open-ended questions] for the focus groups? ( Write 4-5 open-ended questions to explore the topic of interest. Consider order effects.)</p>
<p>Fast Forward: Lets assume that you have conducted two focus groups with nine Baby Boomers in each group and obtained the helpful insights and data. Next, you want to use the insights from the focus groups to develop a sampling frame of the target population. For this brief survey on travel needs and preferences among Baby Boomers, you want to be able to make conclusions about the entire population and, thus, you need to be able to generalize the results.</p>
<p>6. Based on the data from the focus groups, what would a survey (a set of the closed-ended questions) look like? Some speculation/imagination is required here. Write 4-5 closed-ended questions to explore the topic of interest. Aspire for the highest level of measurement. Consider the order effects. Dont include questions about the socio-demographic characteristics. Assume that they will be added automatically at the end.</p>
<p>7. Data Collection Method: Now, you need to decide how you will collect the data. (e.g., mailed questionnaire, face-to-face structured/schedule-standardized interview, telephone, online)? What data collection method will you choose? Provide a justification for your choice and explain the advantages and disadvantages the data collection method you are choosing. Please be specific.</p>
