IBM Technology Strategic Plan Assignment Purpose: Throughout the course you have completed a number of steps associated with creating a technology strategic plan for an organization of your choosing. This final assignment will have you bring together these various pieces as you craft a final strategic plan document and presentation. Requirements: You will create a 7-10 page strategic plan document and 8-12min – presentation video. The document will be the final public document that brings together each of the previously completed parts from the course. The video will be a synthesis of these ideas and is intended to be a primary way to communicate the strategic plan with the entire organization and public stakeholders.
Strategic Plan Document: The document should be of the highest quality and include the sections described below. The difficult part of this work is writing a coherent document that captures the results of your work over the term, while not simply copying and pasting every worksheet you have filled out. Remember, the goal of your final strategic plan document is to capture the most important parts of your work this term in a way the justifies your plan to the organization stakeholders. Introduction: In this section you must provide the reader with background on the organization and the importance of the strategic plan. Included in this section should be a description of the various stakeholders.
Strategic Plan Process: This section should describe and highlight how the strategic plan was developed and the sections that will follow.
Analysis: This section should explain the various analyses that were carried out and the key outcomes of that work.
Results and Goals: This section should clearly lay out how the organization should move forward, what the goals should be, and describe how these goals might be achieved through work by the stakeholders.
Evaluation: This section should synthesize your program evaluation document and allow the reader to understand how the organization will know if the goals have been reached or not. This should include a timeline for implementing the goals and completing the evaluation.
Conclusion: This section should include a general review of the work completed and any final next steps in the process. Presentation:
The presentation should be of the highest quality and include brief descriptions of the same sections required in the final strategic plan document. The presentation should leverage the use of visual representations to communicate the strategic plan and the various analyses that went into crafting the plan. Remember, the goal of your final presentation is to capture the most important parts of your document in a way that justifies your work to the organization stakeholders and public. You are welcome to create your video using any media platform you wish. That said, the video should be between 8-12 minutes in length, include a minimum of 4 visual representations, and use language and ideas that the general public will understand. Textbook: Bryson, J.
