It provides excellent general information about almost every job, and is a great starting point to develop job specifications and competencies. Having a starting point simply makes the job of refining this information for a specific job in a specific organization much easier. Using the O*NET Web site, write a 2–3-page paper to address the following: Describe the job you are modeling in this assignment. Develop a competency model. Summarize the process you used to develop your model. Determine whether the person hired should have this competency or be trained on it. Support your rationale with context. For this assignment, you can either use the job of retail sales person discussed in the Chern’s case study of your course text, or you can use any job with which you are familiar. As you create your competency model, use the example in Table 4-13 on page 106 of your course text for guidance.
