The organizational structure I have chosen is, The Recording Industry. It is not enough to be able to sing, record or perform. Their is much more than that. The production phase is more the easy part. I chose this because as a published songwriter, I learned early. I wrote a song, now what? Like any business their is a structure and a chain of command in order to put together a project that you want millions to listen to and moreover, BUY. One of the main things and go along with this class is the SWOT Analysis. One will need to understand what does this project have in its favor. Otherwise, what is its Strength. There are also weaknesses. What if the song does well and the artist is unable to perform or maintain appearances. This could kill sales or lessen demands for downloads. Opportunities. If the artist has good media, social networking , like You Tube, Google or Pandora, those are a great for exposure. Threats. An artist or the company must be aware and identify possible forces working against marketing efforts according to the text.(Music Business Handbook and Career Guide P/288. Davis and Tim Baskerville/Sage Publishing 1990.) This is a portion of the business that covers developing a Marketing Plan. The company has to go from Concept, marketing team, a Marketing plan and strategy. In this business structure it is record promotion and distribution that leads to the greatest efficiency when all phases of the industry come together. However innovation has overtaken by generational computerized methods , however business models change only with technology that is forever evolving.
