Final exam prompt.
Peter Singer begins his speech with a horrific video of a baby being ran over by a van as three people walk pass the dead infant but do not help. Singer points out that although we all think we would have helped there are infants and people in Africa dying from preventable diseases, such as malaria, and yet we aren’t doing anything to help them. He concludes that we all should donate 10% of our income to effective charities to save the lives of millions. What do think of his argument? Should we give ten% to charity? Write an argumentative essay that agrees or disagrees with Singer’s solution. Your essay will need to be four paragraphs long with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. You must quote singer at least twice in the body of the essay to support your claims.
