Respond to the following Opinion:
If I suddenly needed a long-term care due to an accident or illness, I would choose home care.
With home care you can be independent with some restrictions, such as grab bars and anti-slip
rugs and there is freedom to move around your house with comfort. Home care is often
provided by the same nurse or team or nurses, so they always know what kind of care
has been given or is needed. The patient can also keep their same doctor, so the
continuity of their care stays intact. I would choose Medicare because it health benefit
include intermittent skilled nursing care, therapy, and care provided by a home health
aide. Helena Bugumba
If I suddenly needed long-term care, I would do home care because it is my own
territory. Home care also brings a bond between the patient and the nurse, which will
help with my mental stability. For payment I will choose Home and Community-Based
Services (HCBS) waiver programs. Because it is not limited to medical care and their
coverage does not run out when a person’s medical condition stabilizes. Helena
