Scenario Number:
Identify the Problem.
Analyze the Problem and Ethical Considerations.
The staff at the hospital
was not satisfied with the
evaluations because
they didn’t highlight their
responsibilities. There
was a lack of support,
lack of job
understanding, and the
work was not equally
distributed.
The staff of the hospital was assigned patients of different age
groups. Despite having the same duties, the responsibilities of all
were completely different. The evaluation of the staff was done on the
basis of the overall production rather than what they were doing
individually. The leadership must intervene and get feedback from the
employees to resolve the issue (Ledlow & Coppola, 2013). They
should encourage the employees. The ethical consideration is to
evaluate the important components related to the job responsibilities.
The reason behind the occurrence of conflict was the incorrect
methods of evaluation.
Solution #1
Potential Positive Effects
Potential Negative Effects
Change in the process of
evaluation
The staff will feel motivated
which will result in increased
productivity. The frequent
evaluation will help the
employees to identify their
mistakes and their work
performance can improve. The
employees will also have better
work ethics.
Even after changing the
evaluation process, all the
employees might not be satisfied.
The management may also feel
obligated to change the
evaluation whenever the
employees are not satisfied with
the evaluation.

Obtain feedback from
the employees
The feedback can determine if
the employees are satisfied
and help to generate ideas to
keep them happy at the work.
The management might be
concerned about the
complaints and issues faced by
the employees. They might try
to please them by making
necessary changes to the
system.
Solution #3
Potential Positive Effects
Potential Negative Effects
Change in the
responsibilities
This will prevent the
monotonous routine working
of the staff members as they
will be switched from one duty
to another. The employees will
develop multiple skills.
Sometimes the staff members
do not want the change in their
duties and find it difficult to
adjust to the change. Their
potential to handle the job will
decrease due to frequent job
switching.
